Chantilly Wrestlers are having a busy off-season. It kicked off in April when Bernabe Mejia, Ricky Lopez, and Sam Cronin particpated with Team Virginia at the Brute Scholastic Duals in Indiana. The Team finished 4th in the Nation, with all three contributing.
Lopez, Krish Perumbala, and Wes Litton all competed at the East Coast Duals in Baltimore Maryland in May. Competition included NY, PA, MD, CT, and an especially tough team from Florida. Team VA placed 4th in Greco. Superstar Freshman Logan Barr wrestled well for VA at the Schoolboy Duals in Indianapolis.
Camp season started in June as 19 Chargers attended UVA's intensive team camp. Morning runs, hard drill, and great technique kept the team busy, but we will need to work on our Dodgeball skills for next year! Several rising freshmen attended and got great varsity level experience- Christian Bylund, Walt Carlson, Joe Rivetti, and Barr. Kyle Smith, Litton, Carlson, and Ryland Arnold will all be attending Jeff Jordon's Camp of Champs in late July.
5 Tilly grapplers wrestled in an outdoor event for charity at the James Madison "Melee 'Til Midnight" on July 9th. Before the rains came down, all five were set to place in the top four- Lopez, Cronin, Barr, Chris Dickman, and Joe Scholnick ( Nice comeback from months of Mono!)
Next up- Chantilly's 6th annula wrestling camp July 26-29. College athletes, top coaches, Live wrestling all included for a mere $90. The forms are on www.chantillysports.org<http://www.chantillysports.org>.
